The Adventure of the Blue Carbuncle
Hyperion Sherlock, Lotus Gemology’s advanced gem inclusion search engine, allows inclusion searches by:
Gem Type
- Host gem species (corundum, spinel, beryl, chrysoberyl, etc.)
- Host gem variety (ruby, sapphire, emerald, alexandrite, etc.)
Country/Locality/Geology
- Host country of origin, specific localities in that country, or the geology (basalt, pegmatite, marble, etc.)
Search results will list all known solid inclusions in that gem material. Each inclusion is fully documented with references of when it was first discovered. Where we have photographs of that inclusion, those will also show up in the search.
